“Una Gota en la Arena” – Forma&Cemento’s Washbasins Take Center Stage in Chihuahua

On June 6, 2025, the exhibition “Una Gota en la Arena” opened at the Casa Redonda Museum in Chihuahua, organized by ISAD – Instituto Superior de Arquitectura y Diseño. The event celebrated the dialogue between design, culture, and territory.

At the heart of the exhibition was the “Una Gota en la Arena” collection of washbasins and concrete claddings, born from the collaboration between ISAD and Forma&Cemento under the artistic direction of Alessandro Gorla, and first unveiled at EDIT Napoli 2024.

Five models – Agave, Bloque, Cobre, Nopal, and Pilar – interpret the theme of water across Mexican landscapes, transforming the daily ritual of bathing into a conscious and poetic gesture.

Crafted in UHPC concrete, each piece blends minimalist aesthetics with a strong symbolic dimension: pure lines, sandy textures, and references to the material culture of the Mexican desert come together with Italian artisanal know-how. The result is a collection of functional yet evocative objects, capable of expressing a deep connection between nature, memory, and design.
